Link for 9/4/09

I know this is a day early, but I’m not sure I am going to be able to post tomorrow and REALLY want to share this link with all of you.  I have no idea how many of you actually read this thing, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on this list.  Seems like facial symmetry is an odd measure of attractiveness but maybe I’m wrong.  I think my face is kinda symmetrical, so maybe that means I’m attractive??

Feel free to share your thoughts on this one.  Anyway, it is a fun read.

  1. That stat is pretty striking…though, I have noticed that your left ear is just slightly higher than your right (just kidding). Makes you wonder, though, what other professions favor symmetrical faces. CEOs? Does rising higher in the ranks mean that your face gets increasingly more symmetrical? The world may never know…

  2. You aren’t too shabby. I have noticed the assymetry of your ears, however. Better work on that.

  3. They’ve also linked height to success. Looking over the CEOs of the Fortune 500 companies, the average height is nearly three inches (if I recall correctly) taller than the average height of the general US population.

These sort of things are supported by marketing principles. Marketers spend millions of dollars trying to figure out how to make things appealing to people, yet simple things such as changing the background color of a website can increase their sales by huge percentages.

  4. That’s pretty amazing. Maybe that’s why you’re not a pro football player- your asymetry.

  5. Well, our favorite blogger does have height in his favor. Just sayin, he may not be a pro athlete, but his stature indicates that perhaps he will become a big time CEO one day. Best to keep on his good side, just in case.

Also, Alotta Fagina thinks this Beau character sounds all kinds of symmetrical.
